Project 365 HG – What’s Baking?
Day 109 – Today we had two groups in from the local elementary school.
This group spent some time in the Acadian House as Jef Achenbach showed them various features and Acadian construction methods. Jef had taught these same kids about “torchis” (a mixture of clay, sand and straw used in construction) in a previous session at their school. Here they watch in anticipation as Jef removes some freshly baked cinnamon buns from the bake oven.
The other group was studying gardening and spent time with gardener Julie Forrest learning about the plants. They took a few moments to get their hands dirty as well, planting pansies in the Knot Garden!
