Project 365 HG – Bake Oven at Work.
Day 50. As a follow-up to my recent photo showing the Acadian Bake Oven at the Historic Gardens, today’s shot shows the interior of the oven, all fired up and baking bread.
This photo was taken during our Annapolis Royal Heritage Weekend event at la Maison acadienne where visitors experienced the Acadian House in winter.
We were cheating here a bit, having the fire still flaming while the bread is in the oven. Normally, one would heat the clay oven using fire, then remove the fire and let the heat of the clay bake the bread. But our method still worked, and allowed for some interesting photos.
