Project 365, Day 38 – Universal Hand of Mankind.
Again, not a work day so I’ve looked around my home for something related to the Gardens (there’s lots).
Today’s image is of a beautiful piece of artwork created by Canadian Artist Tom Forrestall for the Historic Gardens.
The original “Universal Hand of Mankind” was a line drawing, and served as the Gardens’ logo for many years. Tom then kindly created an egg tempura version of the same image, which has been reproduced in Limited Edition prints and art cards, to raise funds for the Gardens.
A description accompanied the first image, describing it as the Universal Hand of Mankind, holding within its grasp a rose (British), iris (French) and mayflower (Mi’kmaq) representing the diverse heritage of Annapolis Royal.
Tom Forrestall has been a good friend to the Historic Gardens, and we thank him for this!
